The Energy Coalition (TEC) is seeking a Project Manager to join our Marketing, Education & Outreach (ME&O) team, with a focus on education initiatives and the expansion of TEC’s Education and Training programs.

Your placement would be in either TEC’s San Diego or Irvine office, with the flexibility to work remotely as needed. The Project Manager will support daily operations, program development, engagement, and outreach, while overseeing curriculum development, budget management, and contract administration.

The Project Manager will lead efforts to expand participation in education and training contracts serving TK–12, with a focus on grades 9–12. Key responsibilities include managing CTE programs, internships, and technical certification opportunities; overseeing contracts, budgets, and project scope; and building and strengthening partnerships statewide to support program growth and expansion. The role also involves statewide travel to events, outreach activities, and conferences, as well as supporting other ME&O and organization-wide projects—particularly those advancing workforce development and training for rural, hard-to-reach, and disadvantaged communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships: Engage program staff, participants, educators, partners, community-based organizations, subcontractors, and utility representatives.
  • Execute administrative tasks: Maintain trackers, manage documents, perform data entry and quality control, and ensure accurate CRM databases and reports.
  • Monitor and improve processes: Ensure alignment with program requirements, metrics, and goal attainment. Provide recommendations to tailor services and deliverables to participant and partner needs while keeping supervisors and contract managers informed of project roadblocks.

Other Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and finalize projects in accordance with specifications, deadlines, and budget.
  • Synthesize project activities to support grant reports, external-facing documents, and program evaluation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on instructional development, classroom management, teaching strategies, and education policy updates.
  • Advise on best practices for community-based organization (CBO) relationship development, engagement, and capacity building.
  • Provide feedback on program processes, tools, and improvements based on experience and community input.
  • Support the development and distribution of program-wide communications, marketing collateral, and outreach materials.
  • Coordinate project initiatives, events, and team or client meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and note-taking.
  • Produce regular updates and reports on project progress.
  • Explore and develop partnership opportunities with nonprofits, resource providers, utilities, and local government agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in education, training, workforce development, and curriculum development, specifically working with K-12 students and young adults
  • Experience with public speaking, events, and audience engagement, both in-person and online
  • Experience building partnerships and relationships across diverse communities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English (both verbal and written)
